Away from the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku, Hanazono Shrine is a shrine that continues to be loved by locals. The precincts are dotted with stone structures that give you a sense of history, making it ideal for strolling. At the Rooster Market, which is held every November, votive lanterns are displayed at the entrance to the approach and in front of the worship hall, and the precincts are crowded with street vendors selling rakes, praying for "prosperous business".
